remembrance ___________________________________________ Those bubble trails spheres of prisoned light and air whisked along in a flurry of leaves plucked by the wind from the old grey tree. It seems to me that they reflect every nuance of our childish laughter every whisper of those sunset evenings outside the hall, after meetings. lost ________________________________________________ The palm tree is gone and the night is so still. there will be no palm-fronds to give voice to the passing breezes and if not for sodium glare and neon flicker the stars would shine brighter. the wings of the breeze There was a hasty muttering of brief prayers a faint rustling as the shrivers moved through the ranks of fallen forms. And bugles howled their relentless cry as shining-eyed boys marched out to die.
