Those
bubble trails spheres of prisoned light and air whisked along in a flurry of leaves plucked by the wind from the old grey tree.
It seems to me that they reflect every nuance of our childish laughter every whisper of those sunset evenings outside the hall, after meetings. Sometimes, there was rain in the air and the old tree's roots were decked in gold tiny blossoms beaten from its branches like damp bright stars on the black tar road. And your face in the warm orange glow

The palm tree is
gone and the night is
so still. there will be no palm-fronds to
give voice to the passing breezes and if not for sodium glare and neon flicker the stars would shine brighter. Yesterday it was full moon somewhere far away people craned their necks to see earth catch moon and for one moment the stars ruled the skies. Today the moon chases us
down slim tar roads so bright that its reflected glory shimmers and refracts off the window-glass.
